Ways To Have Great Parking Areas

A few years ago, I started looking into different ways to make my yard look a lot better. I realized that our entire driveway needed to be renovated and the sidewalk needed to be fixed, so I started looking into different paving solutions. I began talking with different contractors around the area about fixing the concrete, and before I knew it, I was working with true professionals who understood what we were faced with. They took their time, did the job right, and really made our yard stand out. This blog is totally dedicated to paving to improve your home.

Ways To Have Great Parking Areas

Whether you are looking to have your home driveway paved or you are planning on having your business parking lot paved, you want to end up with a great looking surface that's also functional. You can learn about some of the unique ways you can use a variety of materials to create a great-looking surface by reading this article.

Use asphalt and brickwork

Bricks red in color look nice against the black of asphalt and you can use this to your advantage when you are having your driveway or your business parking lot paved. You can have the driving surface asphalt around the parking lot, then use the bricks around the lamp posts and other areas of the parking lot car's won't be driving on, like the shopping cart return as another example. With your driveway, you can have it be asphalt and then have the brickwork line both sides of the driveway all the way from the street up to your garage.

Use asphalt and cement

You can use asphalt and cement for your parking lot or driveway. You can create cement shapes anywhere you want to add style. You can also create cement walkways that take people specific ways you would prefer for them to walk through in order to make them safer in the parking lot. For your home driveway, you can have separations where you have a few feet wide strip of cement every 8 or 10 feet if you have a long driveway. Then, you can have one of the cement strips meet with the walkway that will take visitors to the front porch. This will just be an added effect that gives the driveway a bit of a different look than all the others on the block.

Use asphalt and stonework

Incorporating areas of stonework into an asphalt parking lot or driveway can give it a fantastic look. It will be especially great if you happen to live or run your business from an area known for its natural elements, such as nearby mountains or lakes. The areas of stonework that are in the asphalt can be designed to look as if they were chosen at random. Or, they can have a strategic layout, such as having the stonework areas added into the parking lot where people are most likely going to walk or around the light posts and going up the handicap ramps. In your driveway, you can have the stonework frame the driveway, or you can create something like a stonework diamond right in the middle of the driveway.
