Pave With Concrete

A few years ago, I started looking into different ways to make my yard look a lot better. I realized that our entire driveway needed to be renovated and the sidewalk needed to be fixed, so I started looking into different paving solutions. I began talking with different contractors around the area about fixing the concrete, and before I knew it, I was working with true professionals who understood what we were faced with. They took their time, did the job right, and really made our yard stand out. This blog is totally dedicated to paving to improve your home.

When it comes to paving your driveway you have a few options, but only asphalt and concrete are viable long term options. The good news is that both of these are great ways to pave your driveway and they both have benefits. Each have been used extensively for paving projects throughout the entire United States. While both of these materials are great options you want to pick the option that fits you the most. Here are a few of the reasons that you should consider using concrete for your paving projects.

Durable

One of the most important reasons that you want to use concrete for your paving projects is that it is incredibly durable. There is a good chance that you have driven on concrete freeways, highways, and city roads. Limestone is made with limestone aggregate and cement. The limestone aggregate will often be hand picked to have little to no microporosity, or small holes. Water gets into the small holes and freezes which expands and breaks the rock down, which deteriorates the concrete road. So, by choosing the best limestone aggregate the concrete roads are build to last an extremely long time. If concrete is good enough for freeways, then it is good enough for your driveway.

Color

When you think of concrete you most likely think of the gray concrete that you see on most sidewalks. There is no doubt that a really nice gray concrete can look very nice, but you don't have to have a regular gray concrete slab. Concrete can have color additives put into the concrete mix to create almost any color that you want. It can be extremely nice to choose the color that you want your driveway to be. In fact, you can partition your driveway into multiple colors if you wish.

Stamping

While a classic concrete finish can look very classy, you should know that there are options available to you for concrete finishes. A skilled concrete contractor will have the ability to use a stamp and put a very specific pattern into the cement. Some of the most common stamps are stone, tile, timber, and there are many more. You can talk to your contractor to see which stamps they have available and what they feel comfortable with. The stamps can take a classy driveway and really turn it into work of art that is unique to your home and your style.
